Have you ever heard of the ‘Broken Window Theory of Crime”? It states that if a window is broken, even in a really nice community, and it is left unfixed, that crime will increase in that area. Why? Because people assume that if the window is not fixed, that no one cares about that area so they can do what ever they want…litter, graffiti, further damage, etc. It’s a proven theory and really shows us the importance of keeping our community clean even through the smallest of acts such as not storing trash outside our units, making sure we respect the landscape, reporting to the office if you see a broken sprinkler or something else maintenance needs to address, picking up after our pets, and yes…fixing a broken window as soon as possible.
There are currently several projects occurring in the community such as replacing siding on the buildings, painting, new light fixtures, gutter maintenance, and upgrading the landscaping. However, its also the little things that matter. We all care about this community, not only as a place to live but also as an investment. Together, as a community, we can make Parkmont Village Green the best it has ever been. Please help to keep an eye on the “small stuff”…because it all matters. Thank you everyone!
