Sometime around December 24th or 25, one of the brand new, recently planted, Japanese Maple trees was vandalized. This appeared to be a premeditated act as the vandal used a saw to cut off the crown of this very young tree, damaging it in a manner that will result in its replacement at a cost of $700. Trees are an important part of our community here at Parkmont Village Green. A neighborhood with lush, mature trees can increase property values. They provide shade, clean air, and are an aesthetically attractive part of our community which is why this is considered a senseless, criminal act.
